"Doodles"
"Doodles" are an abstract, unconscious form of writing in the shape of a drawing. The focus of the person creating them is distracted, their mind is elsewhere, while their hand automatically sketches repetitive patterns, filling the surface of the paper. When this happens, the unexpected images that emerge on the paper seem to rise from the unconscious—raw, unprocessed, and inexplicable. Nothing appears logical, and the impression left by the depictions of "doodles" is akin to that of dreams.
For the viewer, observing them holds a certain fascination, as their lack of meaning creates confusion while simultaneously freeing the mind, allowing one to separate form from meaning. The creator of "doodles" exists in an intermediate state between consciousness and the unconscious. More hypnotized than ecstatic, they take pleasure in the mechanical movements of their hand, the loss of self, and immerse themselves in an act of mental catharsis—where images are freed from their meaning.
