"Granazi" / "Gear"
In this new series of works, I explore the concept of time as a catalyst for change, inevitably leading to decay, while simultaneously reflecting on transience, stillness, and the ceaseless flow of existence.
The works exist both as flat compositions and as woven textures, functioning on both large and small scales. Countless fragments of masking tape interact with lines, dots, circles, and other forms in ink and pencil on paper. In some pieces, I introduce a second layer using only black paint, imprinting and drawing traces of presence and absence.
I work mechanically, in repetitive motions—measuring moments, life stages, mistakes, and successes. In the process, I reflect, redefine, and reposition myself.
Just as life moves in cycles, evolving continuously, so too does the masking tape I have chosen as a medium. It transforms, shifts, and takes on new colors and textures. It lives. It will always remain in motion, existing within time, circling alongside the inked forms—like a gear in perpetual motion.
